WAYNE IN VERSUS BEAUMONT AT UNIFIED 32

Sep 24, 2017

EDMONTON — “Big Bad” Stephen Beaumont has drawn a new assignment for Friday’s Unified 32 card in Edmonton: Adam “The Hammer” Wayne.

A Regina, Sask., product, Wayne is riding high on a three-fight win streak (all finishes), with his only loss coming in his pro debut at the hands of former Unified MMA Lightweight Champion Garret Nybakken in 2013. Prior to that, Wayne enjoyed an outstanding 6-0 amateur career, with all of those wins also coming via finish. He has long been considered one of Saskatchewan’s top MMA fighters.

Beaumont, meanwhile, brings a 9-2 record to battle. Six of Beaumont’s victories have come via stoppage, most recently a first-round submission victory over B.C.’s Dia Grant at Unified 31.

In the Unified 32 main event, UFC vet Shane “Shaolin” Campbell defends the Unified MMA Lightweight Championship against red-hot challenger Mike Scarcello. In the co-main event, former Unified MMA Middlweight Championship challenger Teddy Ash takes on UFC vet Victor Valimaki.
