Ash, Dewsbery Meet in Battle of Former Champs in Unified 39 Headliner

Oct 22, 2019

EDMONTON — Teddy Ash and Brandt Dewsbery lock horns in a battle of former Unified MMA champions in the main event of Unified MMA 39, Dec. 6 at River Cree Resort & Casino in Edmonton.

Ash returns to action after fighting for a UFC contract on Dana White’s Contender Series. He previously held the Unified middleweight and light-heavyweight titles.

“I’m really happy and excited to share the cage with a highly skilled opponent like Brandt,” says Ash (14-5). “Every time you fight a tough opponent like him, you get that much better, and I’m pumped to rise to the occasion.”

Replies Dewsbery (15-3-1), “It’s a tough fight against a No. 1-ranked fighter who’s been super active, and I’ve been on the sideline for a while. He floats between 185 and 205,and I’m going to have to eat like a mule to stay at 185 pounds. There’s nothing easy about this fight. I have six weeks to prepare after being out for four years against a game opponent in his hometown. Has to be worth it.”
