EDMONTON — Teddy “Bear” Ash will defend his Unified MMA Middleweight Championship against UFC vet Marcio Alexandre at Unified 37 on May 24 at River Cree Resort & Casino.

Ash, 29, most recently defended his title with a stoppage victory over UFC vet Dom Steele in the main event of Unified 36, improving to 13-4 in the process.

“I’m on the rise and getting better every day, and it shows every time I fight. May 24 will be the best performance of my fighting career … so far, ” offers Ash, who now holds notable wins over three UFC vets.

Alexandre, meanwhile, is coming off back-to-back, first-round finishes, including two-minute submission victory at Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series. With the victory in Vegas, the 29-year-old Brazilian standout climbed to 17-4 as a pro.

“I see myself as the winner of this fight already. It doesn’t matter how victory comes, but it will be mine,” says Alexandre, who started his career with 11 straight wins before signing with the UFC, where he shared the cage with highly ranked opponents like Court McGee and Tim Means.

“I respect Teddy like I respect all of my opponents, but I’m sure he knows this will be his toughest fight yet.”
