Nick Leblanc knocks on the UFC’s door at Unified 58

EDMONTON — “Slick” Nick Leblanc loves almost everything about fighting.

“I love to perform. I love the flow state. I really enjoy the rush of competing,” the 26-year-old Calgary product says.

“More than anything, I love winning. I’m a super competitive person, and I know that this is something that I can turn into a career.”

Leblanc takes the next step in his journey against his toughest challenge yet, Jake Geauvreau (3-1), at Unified 58 on June 14 at River Cree Resort & Casino in Edmonton, LIVE worldwide on UFC Fight Pass.

Leblanc is undefeated in his first four professional fights. All of his wins have come by knockout, including three in the first round. He believes that trend will continue against Geauvreau in their highly anticipated featherweight showdown.

“I don’t get paid by the hour, so I’m going to put him away the first time he slips up. When he gives me an opening, I’m going to take it,” Leblanc says.

“I know he’s a dangerous man, but I know I’m more dangerous. I’m always ready for three hard rounds – I can go all day long – but I’m ready to put him away quickly too.”

Leblanc hopes another big win will earn him a shot on Dana White’s Contender Series. He has a simple message for the UFC President.

“Dana, these guys are too (expletive) easy – I keep putting them away. Give me some stiffer competition. Let me put Canada back on the map; let me get that world title,” he says.

“Let me in. Let me in. I’m knocking. Let me in.”
