Pat Pytlik wants UFC contract and a KO over Jake Lindsey at Unified 36

Jan 7, 2019

EDMONTON — After starting out his career with seven straight wins, Pat Pytlik defends his Unified MMA super-lightweight championship against UFC vet Jake Lindsey in the main event of Unified 36 on March 1 at River Cree Resort & Casino in Enoch, AB. Before that, the unbeaten standout spoke with UnifiedMMA.ca.

What does having that belt on the line mean to you when you step in the Unified MMA cage?

It means a lot. I fought for the title in September, when I won it, but you’re not a true champion until you defend it at least once, right? That’s what I’m going to do.

With the belt on the line, does that at all affect how you’re approaching this fight?

I’m definitely not more conservative — I’m just happy because there are two extra rounds to knock him out (laughs).

Do you know much about your opponent, Jake Lindsey?

No.

Is that the way that you prefer it?

It is.

What do you bring to the table?

I’ve knocked out everyone that I’ve fought, so it’s no secret what I’m looking for (laughs).

Is that the most likely outcome for this fight?

I’m going to finish him or I’ll win the decision. I’m definitely going to be trying to finish him, but the win is the most important thing.

With a win do you think you’re going to get that UFC call?

Yes sir.

Tickets for Unified 36 go on sale Thursday via TicketMaster.ca.
