EDMONTON — Teddy “Bear” Ash now fights Alex “Eazy” Polizzi in light-heavyweight action at Unified 39 on Dec. 6 in Edmonton, after Brandt Dewsbery withdrew from their bout due to injury.

Despite what his nickname may suggest, Polizzi is Ash’s toughest challenge to date, boasting a perfect 5-0 record as a pro, with all of his victories coming by stoppage. He was also 6-0 as an amateur (all finishes) after an impressive wrestling career at Northwestern University, where he competed in the NCAA Division I championship tournament three times.

Ash, meanwhile, is hungry to rebound from his defeat at Dana White’s Contender Series in the summer — just his second loss in his past 10 fights.

In other news, Shane “Shaolin” Campbell and Dawond Pickney will now meet in super-lightweight action after their respective opponents, Spencer Jebb and Pat Pytlik, withdrew from their bouts due to injury.

Unified 39, which goes down Dec. 6 at River Cree Resort & Casino, also features the return of former title challenger Mike Scarcello against Derek Boyle, the much-anticipated rematch of Merrick Duggan and Tim “Shady” Smith, a big-time bantamweight clash between Michael Hay and Noah Ali, as well as the professional debut of top undefeated Saskatchewan amateur prospect Andrew Marvidis against fast-rising Josh Mackenzie.
