Tony Rojas is striking while the iron’s hot at Unified 65

EDMONTON — Tony Rojas is striking while the iron’s hot.
A little more than two months since climbing to 4-1 at Unified 64, Rojas returns to the Unified MMA cage on Friday at Unified 65, once again under the bright lights at River Cree Resort & Casino in Edmonton, AB.
“I had a good performance in my last fight and Unified was putting on an event before the end of the year, so the timing is great on my end,” the 29-year-old Edmonton flyweight says.
“I didn’t have any injuries in my last fight — just a couple bumps and bruises — but I quickly healed up and got right back to work for this one.”
On Friday, Rojas steps up to the plate against his most experienced opponent, Jesus Gutierrez of Mexico, who brings a 8-7 record into fight night.
“I want to make a statement on Friday that I’m ready for the next level of competition. This guy has a lot more experience than me — he has three times the experience that I do — and that’s exactly what I’m looking for,” Rojas says.
“I’m ready to go out there and make a statement by finishing this fight.”
Rojas knows a fifth victory this week will set the stage perfectly for a breakout 2026 campaign on Canada’s Ultimate Proving Ground.
“I want to stay as busy as I can, always moving onto bigger challenges in the cage,” he says when asked about his goals for the next 12 months. “I’m not looking past Friday because every fight is extremely important.”
