EDMONTON — A pair of Unified MMA championship bouts have been added to Unified 36, which takes place Dec. 7 at River Cree Resort & Casino in Enoch, AB.

Craig Shintani fights Clay Dixon in a battle of top Edmonton fighters for the vacant Unified MMA featherweight title, while Calgary’s Michael Hay takes on British Columbia’s Jamie Siraj for the vacant Unified MMA bantamweight championship.

Craig Shintani boasts an impressive 7-2 record, with six of his wins coming in his past seven outings. The three-time Unified MMA vet is coming off an impressive win over former champ Garret Nybakken. All but one of the 26-year-old’s victories have come via finish.

Clay Dixon, meanwhile, is 5-1 as a pro and riding high after a victory over Bellator vet Behrang Yousefi. Dixon is the proud owner of two first-round finishes under the Unified MMA banner.

Michael Hay brings an impressive 5-1 record into his bantamweight championship bout with Jamie Siraj. Hay is currently on a four-fight win streak, with all of his wins coming in the first round. The 25-year-old’s only loss came at the hands of current UFC star, and The Ultimate Fighter winner, Brad Katona.

Jamie Siraj represents the famed TriStar Gym and makes his Unified MMA debut on the strength of back-to-back submission wins in British Columbia and New Brunswick. The 24-year-old B.C., product is the apprentice of UFC star Kajan Johnson.

Also at Unified 36, unbeaten prospect KB Bhullar will try to improve to 5-0 at the expense of Saskatchewan’s Corey Atkinson in the middleweight division, and former champ Garret Nybakken returns to action against fast-rising B.C., fighter Damian Johnston in 165-pound action.
