EDMONTON – He’s back.

After more than four years on the sideline due to injury, former Unified MMA Canadian title challenger “Big Bad” Stephen Beaumont returns to the cage at Unified 46.

On Friday, Beaumont battles The Ultimate Fighter vet Michael Hill, LIVE on UFC Fight Pass from the SOLD-OUT River Cree Resort & Casino in Enoch, AB.

Beaumont’s return has been a long time coming. Many fans doubted if they’d ever see him back in the cage. It turns out, they weren’t alone in their doubts.

“At one point, I definitely didn’t see myself fighting again because of the severity of my injury,” he admits.

“But fighting and competing is my passion. I love the energy and the crowd. Once I got healthy enough to come back, this was the first thing in my mind. There were about three years where I couldn’t do basic exercises, but I’m healthy now. I feel like I’m in my prime.”

Beaumont would like to fight a lot more in the future, as long as he’s healthy enough to compete. But for right now, he’s not looking past Friday. And he has only one thing on his mind for Hill.

“I’m definitely going for a finish,” he said. “Whether that’s a knockout or a submission, I don’t know. Whatever gift he wants to give me, I’m going to take it.”
