BOSER NOW TAKES ON YAGER IN #UNIFIED28 MAIN EVENT

Aug 15, 2016

EDMONTON — Tanner Boser has drawn a new opponent to defend his #UnifiedMMA Heavyweight Championship against in the main event of #Unified28, September 30 in Edmonton: oversized Arizona product Joe Yager.

A professional since 2009, Yager is a Bellator vet who’s coming off back-to-back wins over former Unified MMA Heavyweight Champion Tony Lopez. Yager, who’s ranked by Fight Matrix as the 59th best heavyweight in the world, brings a standout 11-4 record to battle.

Boser, who’s ranked 95th in the division according to Fight Matrix, was disappointed to not fight Rossborough, who was forced out of the bout due to injury.

But he didn’t stop any of his Fight Night preparations.

“Rossborough would’ve been a great win to have on my record, so it sucks that he’s now injured,” says Boser, who will be looking to improve to 11-2 on September 30. “However, I feel that Yager is an even tougher fight and has bigger world-ranking implications. This is a huge fight.”

Yager agrees with Boser about the magnitude of the new Unified MMA 28 main event — but he isn’t coming to Edmonton for anything less than to steal the show.

“Tanner is a really tough opponent who comes to fight every time. I’m the same way, and on Fight Night there are definitely going to be fireworks,” says Yager, who’s won six of his past seven fights. “I’m looking forward to making a home with Unified MMA — but first I have to pick up my belt on September 30.”

Unified MMA 28 will also feature a Featherweight Championship bout between Edmonton’s Parwez Ghulam and Canadian submission specialist Curt Demarce, and a Light-Heavyweight Championship fight between Calgary’s Nick Campbell and Edmonton’s Denny Houle.
