BOSER-ROSSBOROUGH HEADLINES STACKED #UNIFIED28 CARD

Jul 12, 2016

EDMONTON — Tanner Boser will defend his #UnifiedMMA Heavyweight Championship versus Nick Rossborough in the main event of #Unified28 on September 30 in Edmonton.

Boser, who won the title with a five-round dismantling of Tony Lopez in June, is excited to defend his crown against another tough opponent like Rossborough, a veteran of The Ultimate Fighter, Bellator and Strikeforce FC.

“Nick has fought for elite organizations in this sport, so I’m expecting an elite, very game opponent,” Boser says of Rossborough, a professional fighter since 2004, who’s headlined for Strikeforce FC in the past.

“He’s going to be tough, but I predict a knockout in the second round.”

What does Rossborough, a heavy-handed Utah product, think of Boser’s bold prediction?

“I don’t know if he’s ever fought anyone like me before. But if he predicted that, I’ll give him a run for his money,” says Rossborough, a 6-foot-5 mountain of a man who’s looking for his 22nd stoppage win at Unified MMA 28 in Edmonton on September 30. “If he wants to stand and bang, I’ve got some pretty heavy hands myself.”

Boser doesn’t plan on leaving the Royal Palace without his belt in tow. Rossborough, on the other hand, has other ideas.

“I’ve never fought in Edmonton before,” Rossborough says, “so it’ll be great to ride into town, get that title and then come back and defend it soon afterwards.”

Unified MMA 28 will also feature a Unified MMA Featherweight Championship bout between Edmonton’s Parwez Ghulam and Brandon’s Curtis DeMarce, while Calgary’s Nick Campbell will go to war with undefeated Edmonton product Denny Houle for the Unified MMA Light-Heavyweight Championship.

Tickets go on sale July 19 at www.UnifiedMMA.ca.
