Canada’s top prospect Ksiazkiewicz eyes 3rd straight, 1st-round KO at Unified 45

May 17, 2022

EDMONTON – Mariusz Ksiazkiewicz has a big year planned.

“UFC, Bellator, PFL,” the 32-year-old Winnipeg fighter says when asked where he sees himself fighting in 2023. “Honestly, it doesn’t matter. I just want to be fighting for the biggest shows and competing against the toughest guys in the world.”

Ksiazkiewicz is coming off a first-round knockout win at Legacy Fighting Alliance in the United States. Prior to that, he took out Graham Park by first-round KO to claim the vacant Unified MMA Canadian Super-Middleweight Championship in the Main Event of Unified 42.

Still a long-awaited call to the famed UFC’s Octagon has so far evaded Ksiazkiewicz, who boasts an impressive record of 10-1.

Ksiazkiewicz expected a callup to the UFC after both of his most recent victories. So instead of waiting by the phone, he’s taking the bull by the horns. He returns to action against undefeated Israeli Eli Aronov (5-0) in a non-title fight at Unified 45 on May 27 at River Cree Resort & Casino in Enoch, AB, LIVE on UFC Fight Pass.

Ksiazkiewicz sees his opponent primarily as a wrestler. That doesn’t bother him at all, “The Iron Pol” says, because he’s got the advantage everywhere the fight may take place.

“I’ve got very good wrestling, I’ve got very good submissions, and I’ve got a lot of power in my hands,” he says. “I don’t really care where the fight goes; I see a finish wherever the fight plays out.”

Which round?

“First round,” Ksiazkiewicz  says with all the confidence of a UFC Champion. “First round.”
