EDMONTON – Four Main Event-worthy bouts headline the biggest card of the year in Canada, Unified 45 on May 27 under the bright lights at River Cree Resort & Casino in Enoch, AB, LIVE on UFC Fight Pass.
In the Main Event, Ryan “The Real Deal” Ford (23-5) takes on Atlanta’s Robert “The Blue King” Hale (11-5) for the inaugural Unified MMA Canadian Super-Welterweight Title. Ford, a former WSOF Canadian Welterweight Champion, isn’t just a legend in Canadian MMA; he also brings an impressive 17-7 professional boxing record to the cage. But Hale is one of the most dangerous and confident fighters Ford has competed against, predicting a fourth-straight, first-round finish in his Unified MMA debut.
In the Co-Main Event, Christian Larsen (6-2) defends his Unified MMA Canadian Heavyweight Championship for the second time against UFC vet Rashad “Daywalker” Coulter (9-5). Larsen has established himself as one of the best heavyweights in Canada, and Coulter is the first UFC vet that he’s tested his skills against. Coulter, who hails from Dallas, is hunting for his 10th victory and a return ticket to the UFC’s Octagon with a big win over Canada’s fastest-rising big man.
In the Feature Bout, Maged Hammo (10-6-1) and Neal Anderson (11-4) meet in a highly anticipated rematch for the Unified MMA Canadian Featherweight Championship. Hammo was victorious in the first meeting at Unified 44, winning by fourth-round submission. The loss to Hammo was the only defeat for Anderson in his last eight fights, so he’s hungry to get this one back in the hotly anticipated rematch, the most recent meeting of Top 10 Canadian featherweights in the Unified MMA cage.
In another bout with major implications on the global stage, the top prospect in Canada, Winnipeg’s Mariusz “The Iron Pol” Ksiazkiewicz (10-1), returns to our cage to battle Israeli’s top prospect, Eli Aronov (5-0) in Unified MMA’s loaded middleweight division. An impressive victory could very well spring either hard-hitting fighter to the UFC’s Octagon.
Also on the Unified 45 Main Card on UFC Fight Pass are the following exciting matchups between hungry prospects: Phil Engeroff (2-0) vs. Mac Laursen (1-1), Izzudeen Atmeh (2-2) vs. Harley King (1-1), Jett Grande (2-0-1) vs. Colton Boxell (1-2), and Tyrell Giselbrecht (1-1) vs. Caleb Ermine (0-1).
