Kyle “Killshot” Prepolec takes aim at fellow UFC vet Shane “Shaolin” Campbell at Unified 43
Feb 14, 2022
EDMONTON – It was just a matter of time.
That’s what Kyle “Killshot” Prepolec offers when asked about his Unified 43 clash with Shane “Shaolin” Campbell on March 4 at River Cree Resort & Casino in Enoch, AB, LIVE on UFC Fight Pass.
“I think this is a fight that neither Shane or I could avoid, not that we’d want to avoid it,” Prepolec says. “We’re the top guys in our division in Canada who aren’t signed to the UFC, and neither of us have ever shied away from testing our skills.
“This fight wasn’t really on my radar, but I think it was destined to happen eventually.”

Prepolec, like Campbell, is a seasoned UFC vet. He’s coming off a victory in his first non-UFC battle since 2019. The Ontario fighter brings a record of 15-7 into his Unified MMA debut. Seven of his wins are by knockout and four are by submission.
Standing across from “Killshot” at Unified 43, of course, is Campbell, arguably the most dominant fighter in Unified MMA history. Widely regarded as one of the best strikers on the planet, Campbell is 19-8 on the strength of four straight wins as a professional MMA fighter. “Shaolin” also boasts a 69-10 record as a professional kickboxer.
Prepolec has long supported the career of Campbell, who he lauds as a “bad ass.” But he certainly won’t be starstruck when the Unified MMA cage doors lock.
“I’m not worried. I know he’s a tough guy, but that’s exactly what we prepare for every day. You’re going to face adversity, and that’s all a part of the process,” Prepolec says.
“Killshot” isn’t sure when or how his fight will end, but he knows what he’s coming to accomplish.
“Whether it’s the first round, second round or third round, my goal is to win, just like his,” he says. “It doesn’t matter if I get a KO, TKO, submission or a dominant decision win.
“To me, a fight is a fight. You’ve just got to go out there, do your best and fight your heart out.”
The Unified 43 Co-Main event features UFC vet and former Unified MMA Champion KB “The Bengal” Bhullar (10-3) taking on Strahinja “The Werewolf” Gavrilovic (8-5) in his highly anticipated Unified MMA debut.
Unified 43 also features Neal Anderson (10-4) versus Lucas “Wild Thing” Neufeld (6-1) in a battle of Top 10 Canadian featherweight contenders, Ryan “The Real Deal” Ford’s (22-5) highly anticipated return to the cage against Dawond Pickney (18-15), and much more, LIVE on UFC Fight Pass.
