Larsen-Jones headlines Canada’s biggest MMA event of the year

EDMONTON – The Unified MMA Canadian Heavyweight Championship is on the line once again at Unified 46, as Christian Larsen defends his title for a third time against The Ultimate Fighter/Contender Series vet Jamelle “The Beast” Jones on Sept. 23 at River Cree Resort & Casino in Enoch, AB, LIVE on UFC Fight Pass.

Larsen is riding high on the strength of back-to-back finishes, needing just a combined 105 seconds in his previous two title defenses. His record of 7-2 includes five wins by knockout and three by submission. 

Jones, meanwhile, brings a 12-8 record into his Unified MMA debut, most recently competing four times for ProFightLeague. The former Cage Fury FC champ’s resume includes eight knockouts and two wins by submission. The CES MMA fan-favourite on UFC Fight Pass is Fight Matrix’s No. 94-ranked heavyweight globally. 

Larsen’s and Jones’ national championship showdown is just one of several massive fights on Unified 46 on UFC Fight Pass.

x Former Unified MMA Canadian Middleweight Champion KB “The Bengal” Bhullar will take on fellow UFC vet Curtis “Curtious” Millender in middleweight action. Bhullar tries to improve to 12-4 overall, and 8-0 in Canada’s Ultimate Proving Ground. Millender makes his Unified MMA debut after recently fighting Canadian legend Rory MacDonald at PFL. The dynamic California fighter is a five-time UFC vet and a six-time Bellator MMA vet.

x Neal Anderson begins his quest to another shot at the Unified MMA Canadian Championship as he takes on UFC vet Brandon “The Human Highlight Reel” Jenkins in lightweight action. Anderson brings an 11-5 record into battle, with seven wins in his past nine outings. Jenkins is 15-9, with 10 wins by KO and three by submission.

x Former Unified MMA title challenger Stephen “Big Bad” Beaumont (9-3) returns to the cage for the first time in four years as he meets TUF vet Michael “The Mercenary” Hill (11-6-1) in welterweight action. 

x In a battle of two of Canada’s toughest lightweight contenders, Tom “Big Nasty” O’Connor tries to improve to 11-2 with a second straight win over former Unified MMA Canadian Champion  Tim “Shady” Smith (16-12).

x Two of Canada’s most promising prospects meet, as Jett “Fighter” Grande (4-0-1) and Alex O’Neil (4-0) collide in a battle of undefeated young guns in a catchweight bout of 160 pounds.

x Sean Michael (2-0) and  Tyrell Giselbrecht (2-1) lock horns as both fast-rising fighters work to establish themselves as top Canadian lightweight prospects.
