Mariusz Ksiazkiewicz Predicts Finish Over Graham Park In Unified 42 Main Event

Nov 17, 2021

EDMONTON — Mariusz Ksiazkiewicz has established himself as one of Canada’s most dangerous fighters, but it certainly didn’t happen overnight.

“My family emigrated to Canada from Poland, and before the move, my dad was on the Polish junior karate team. He was very into martial arts back home, so I started training under him right away when we moved to Canada,” Ksiazkiewicz says.

“We joined a karate club when I was five or six, and it blossomed from there.”

Karate led to wrestling, and wrestling ultimately led to MMA.

“The rest is history, I guess you could say,” he says with a laugh. “At WAMMA, we competed in boxing, wrestling, kickboxing, amateur MMA, and now MMA at the highest level.”

Now, Ksiazkiewicz is preparing for the biggest fight of his life. At Unified 42, he takes on Graham Park for the vacant, inaugural Unified MMA Super-Middleweight Championship in the Main Event on Dec. 17 at River Cree Resort & Casino in Enoch, AB, LIVE on UFC Fight Pass.

Ksiazkiewicz boasts a nearly spotless 8-1 record as a professional, with seven stoppage victories. His lone loss came via a controversial decision at Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series in Las Vegas. Park, meanwhile, is the defending Unified MMA Light-Heavyweight Champion and is 8-2 on the strength of five straight first-round finishes.

“This is a really interesting fight. We’re both entering our prime. He’s considered the top dog at 205 pounds, and I’m considered the top dog at 185 pounds, and we’re meeting right at the middle,” Ksiazkiewicz says.

“It’s a really exciting opportunity for both of us.”

But only one man can win.

“I see myself finishing Graham Park,” Ksiazkiewicz offers. “I’m not saying it’s going to be easy, but I’m up for the challenge, and I feel like I have more tools. A year from now, I want to be competing again on the international stage, and an impressive victory over Graham goes a long way in helping accomplish that.”
