TORONTO – Mohamed Ado answers when opportunity knocks.

Fans shouldn’t be surprised that he jumped at the opportunity to take a short-notice fight at Unified 55 on Jan. 19 in Toronto at Rebel Entertainment Complex, LIVE on UFC Fight Pass.

The 23-year-old Niger product takes on his toughest task yet, the hard-hitting Chris Chapman (5-5), in a 180-pound catchweight fight on Unified 55’s Main Card.

“My coach said he had fight news. I was thinking it might be for April, but it was two weeks away,” Ado says with a laugh. “I didn’t even know who the opponent was or what weight the fight would be at, but I said, ‘Sure – let’s do it.’ ”

Ado balances his fighting career with a full course load at the University of Ottawa and another full-time job, but he prides himself on always being ready to step into the cage. It’s also not often that a young fighter has a chance to compete in front of UFC President Dana White, who will be ringside at Unified 55 taping an episode of his hit reality TV program “Lookin’ for a Fight.”

White and his crew will be attending Unified 55 to scout Canada’s top talent and offer life-changing UFC contracts to the fighters who put on the most spectacular performances.

“I simply couldn’t pass this opportunity up,” Ado says. “Let’s go.”
