"NASTY" NYBAKKEN READY TO NAB TITLE AT #UNIFIED27

May 21, 2016

EDMONTON — #Unified27 on June 3 in Edmonton can’t come soon enough for Garret Nybakken.

On that night, the Edmonton product will at long last have his chance to claim the vacant #UnifiedMMA Lightweight Championship against challenger Aaron Bosiak under the bright lights at Royal Palace, LIVE on Go Fight Live.

“This title means the world to me, it really does,” says Nybakken, a 16-fight veteran who’s riding high on a three-bout win streak, all stoppages. “I’ve fought my whole career for a chance at a championship like this. June 3 can’t come soon enough. It’s going to be a night to remember.”

Nybakken respects Bosiak, who’s undefeated through his first four professional bouts. But, at the end of the day, he says nobody is going to stand in his way.

“I’ve trained too hard for too long not to bring home this belt,” Nybakken says. “This is the biggest fight of my career, and there’s not a fighter in the world who will spoil it for me.”

Unified MMA 27, which goes down June 3 in Edmonton, also features a Unified MMA Heavyweight Championship bout between Tony Lopez and challenger Tanner Boser. This can’t-miss Fight Night will also feature the return of seven-time Unified MMA vet Mike Scarcello versus submission specialist Spencer Rohovie, the Unified MMA debut of Teddy Ash versus undefeated light-heavyweight Leroy Noltcho, and Nick Hrabec, who will be gunning for his fourth straight win against Justin Nanaquawetung.
