Pat Pytlik ready for anything at Unified 33

May 7, 2018

EDMONTON — Pat Pytlik hadn’t taken any short-notice fights — until an opportunity to jump on Unified 33 came along.

“My teammate, Mike Scarcello, was forced out of his fight with Derek Boyle. When the opportunity to fill in for Mike presented itself, I jumped at it. No hesitation at all,” says Pytlik, who now tries to improve to 6-0 on Friday at River Cree Resort & Casino in Enoch, Alta., LIVE on UnifiedMMA.tv.

“I haven’t accepted a fight on short notice before, so it might be a little different — we’ll see about that. But I’m in the best shape of my life, so I’m ready for anything.”

Whether he has months to prepare for a bout or just a few weeks, the goal remains the same.

“My job never changes,” says Pytlik, who recently tried out for The Ultimate Fighter in Las Vegas. “I’m just there to put on a good show and have my hand raised.”

Unified 33 also includes a Light-Heavyweight Championship bout between Teddy Ash and Arizona’s Jacob “Kobe” Ortiz, and UFC vet Shane “Shaolin” Campbell defends his Lightweight Championship against Stephen “Big Bad” Beaumont. The event is SOLD-OUT, but the stream is available via pay-per-view at UnifiedMMA.tv.
