Unified 45 rematch more personal for business-like Neal Anderson

May 19, 2022

EDMONTON – Neal Anderson has a business-like approach to fighting.

Prepare to the best of your ability, execute your game plan, and move on to the next objective. That approach has served Anderson well, but this time it’s a bit more personal than just business as usual.

Anderson has lost exactly once in his eight fights since 2013. That defeat came to Maged Hammo at Unified 40. They meet again in one of the most anticipated rematches of the year at Unified 45 on May 27 at River Cree Resort & Casino in Enoch, AB, LIVE on UFC Fight Pass. The Unified Canadian Featherweight Championship will once again be on the line.

“This one is a little more meaningful, because I really wanna get that win back,” says Anderson, who’s coming off a decision victory over fellow top Canadian prospect Lucas Neufeld at Unified 43. “It’s nothing too personal – he’s a good dude – but we’re competitors, and we always wanna right that wrong.

“This one is just a little different.”

Anderson has a simple reason for believing this fight is going to end much differently than the first, in which he was submitted in the fourth round.

“I know what I did wrong in the first fight, and I’m not going to make those same mistakes again.”
