EDMONTON — Two of the world’s most dangerous strikers, Shane “Shaolin” Campbell and Hubert “The Gipsy King” Geven, will throw down for the Unified MMA Lightweight Championship in the Unified 42 Main Event on Dec. 17 at River Cree Resort & Casino, LIVE on UFC Fight Pass.

Campbell is a UFC vet and the proud owner of 69 professional kickboxing victories. Long regarded as one of Canada’s best fighters, Campbell is a perfect 9-0 in the Unified MMA cage, where he holds the Lightweight and Super-Lightweight Championships.

Geven, meanwhile, boasts an impressive 17-3 record in MMA on the strength of five straight stoppage victories. The heavy-handed Netherlands powerhouse is also 45-5-5 as a professional kickboxer.

Campbell: “This fight pits the best in North America versus the best in Europe. I hope my opponent shows up, unlike the last guy.”

Geven: “This is an interesting fight. We both have a lot of kickboxing and MMA experience. Of course, I think I’m going to win. Do I have a message for Shane? Train hard and let’s make it a nice fight for the fans.”

Unified MMA President Sunny Sareen: “We’ve never seen two of the world’s best kickboxers go to battle in the Unified MMA cage — until now. This fight truly features the best lightweight in Canada versus the best lightweight from the Netherlands.”

Unified MMA is excited to also announce that the following bouts have been added to Unified 42: Jett Grande vs. Andrew Mavridis, Cole Campbell vs. Chris Chapman, and Nick Hrabec vs. Behrang Yousefi.
