EDMONTON – Denver’s Ty Flores is coming to Canada this month for a business trip – and business is booming.

The heavy-handed American will challenge Graham Park for Park’s Unified MMA Light-Heavyweight Championship in the Main Event of Unified 49 on Dec. 17 at River Cree Resort & Casino in Enoch, AB, LIVE on UFC Fight Pass.

Flores, a veteran of Dana White’s Contender Series, is excited to experience The Great White North for the first time. He’s looking forward to the trip, but his sights are firmly set on the task at hand, and the task at hand is taking out Park and bringing the Canadian title home with him to the United States.

One thing is certain. In conversation with Flores, it’s clear his goal isn’t to make friends with his opponent.

“I think he’s a firefighter or something, and it doesn’t really seem like MMA is his first focus. I think that’s going to be a big factor going into this, because MMA is my primary focus,” says Flores, whose 9-4 record includes three wins by submission and a pair of knockouts.

“I think he’s been spoonfed his opponents a bit, and I haven’t – I don’t think I’ve ever taken an easy fight,” he adds. “I don’t think he’s fought too many guys outside of Canada. Well, how deep is the talent pool in Canada, you know?”
