EDMONTON – Nick Hrabec is riding high heading into his Co-Main Event fight Saturday at Unified 49.

“I’m feeling really good,” says Hrabec, who goes for his third-straight, first-round finish against former Unified MMA Canadian Champion Tim “Shady” Smith this weekend at River Cree Resort & Casino in Enoch, AB, LIVE on UFC Fight Pass.

“Even though I was injured and haven’t been able to compete as much as I would like, I’ve improved a lot as a fighter because I was coaching the whole time. Mentally, I leveled up again, and I’m more mature than I’ve ever been.

“This is going to be my best performance to date.”

Hrabec, a veteran of 13 professional fights, calls Smith the toughest challenge of his career, and he’s eager to rise to the occasion Saturday at the final Unified MMA event of 2022.

“I’ve got a lot of respect for my opponent, but I fully expect a finish,” Hrabec says. “I don’t know which round it’ll happen in, but I’m ready for it when the opportunity arises.”

Hrabec wants to cap off of the year with a big win to help tee up a breakout 2023 campaign in the cage.

“I really feel like I’m starting to reach my prime, so I want to be as active as possible,” Hrabec says. “I want to fight at least four times in 2023 – at least!”
